What size hook is best for small carp, tench & roach?
As per the title, what is the best size hook for general float & leger fishing on a water stocked with average size roach, carp to around 6lb and tench also around the 4 – 6lb mark?
Small baits used – maggot, sweetcorn, hemp & small pellets
I’d take a selection of size 10 to 16 hooks with me. That way you can change baits, rigs, etc as and when conditions/fish dictate.
